I don't know what to think of the actual plot.

The interesting part is putting this together as you watch the videos out of order and sometimes find one half of a conversation a few hours after you've seen the other half.

Generally you'll find videos for important plot beats or figure out what happened from other videos.

If you want the 100% achievement, use one of the guides to fill in the gaps.
